Bhubaneswar, 25/05/2017 : The Sixth half-yearly meeting of Bhubaneswar Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Undertakings) was organized on 25th May at NALCO’s Corporate Office. The meeting was presided over by Sri Basanta Kumar Thakur, Director (Human Resources), NALCO.
Sri Suresh Chandra Hota, Director, Airport Authority of India, Sri P.K. Mishra, Director, NCDC, Sri Satyananad Nayak, Chief General Manager, BSNL, Sri K.K. Paul, General Manager, MMTC, Sri J. Kar, AGM, SAIL, and Sri M.K.Behera, General Manager, RITES and Sri A.K.Patra, Sr.Regional Manager of HPCL were the guests of honor on the occasion. Sri Nirmal Kumar Dubey, Eastern Region Head of Department of Official Langugage, Ministry of Home, represented Govt. of India in the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Hindi officers, Hindi Translators of above offices alongwith United Insurance Co. Ltd., National Insurance Co.Ltd., Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd., New India Assurance Co. Ltd., RINL, ESI Corporation, NCDC, ECGC Ltd., Central Warehousing Corporation, IOCL, HPC, FCI, ITDC and BEML and other CPSUs of Bhubaneswar.
The third issue of Hindi E-magazine ‘Anant’ of the committee and Trilingual (Odia, Hindi & English) Glossary of Insurance terms published by New India Assurance Co. Ltd. was released by Sri Thakur in the meeting.
Discussions were held, among the members, on organizing joint programmes like Hindi Workshop, Hindi Competitions, Hindi Kavi Sammelan and constituting of sub- committees for propogating use of Hindi in Official work. Sri Dubey informed regarding President of India’s orders issued on 9th report of PCOL and urged to give importance to increase the use of Hindi in Official jobs. He provided guidance to solve the problem faced in working in Hindi by different organisations.
After the discussion among members, the Chairman of the meeting Shri B.K. Thakur, Director (HR), NALCO, reviewed progress reports and called for organising programmes in Hindi for Centenary celebrations of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and Champaran satyagraha and Sabarmati Ashram, which are being encouraged by Govt. of India.
The meeting was coordinated by Shri Hariram Pansari, Member-secretary of the Committee and Manager (Rajbhasha) of NALCO.
