Bhubaneswar, 12/12/2016 :“Any sport gets promoted only if the society and the institutions gives it the premium it deserves. Emphasis on sports as a career option will encourage the talent to achieve excellence and bring laurels to the country,” said Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, Nalco, while addressing as Chief Guest at the concluding ceremony of the 18th All Odisha Nalco Open Tennis Tournament on 11th December at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. The three-day tourney was organized by Bhubaneswar District Tennis Association (BDTA).

While addressing the sportspersons, officials and others Dr. Chand mentioned that Nalco is not only a technological giant but also actively promotes socio-cultural activities and sports. “Odisha has a rich legacy in sports but the sportspersons have few means to pursue their goals. In this context, institutions should adopt the promising sportspersons so that they can focus on their abilities and pursue sports as a career.” Dr. Chand added.

Among others, Shri Suresh Mahapatra IAS, President, BDTA, Shri V. Balasubramaniam, Director (Production), Nalco and Shri Saroj Sahoo, Secretary, BDTA, were present on the occasion.
