    Bhubaneswar, 11th September 2025: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the Navratna CPSE under Ministry of Mines, Govt of India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Skill Development Institute (SDI), Bhubaneswar, an institute under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), to implement a skill development  programme for the youths from the periphery villages of NALCO. The agreement was signed today between the NALCO Foundation, the CSR wing of the company and SDI in the presence of Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD, Dr. Tapas Kumar Pattanayak, Director (HR), NALCO along with other senior officials of NALCO and SDI, Bhubaneswar.

    As part of this initiative, 30 youths each from the periphery villages of  NALCO’s Mines & Refinery Complex, Damanjodi and Smelter & Power Complex, Angul will undergo three months residential skill training programmes in different trades as per the National Skills Qualification Framework guidelines of the National Skill Development Council, Government of India.

    Speaking on the occasion, Shri Singh, said that the initiative is a step towards empowering the local youths with industry-ready skills and sustainable livelihood opportunities. Through this collaboration with SDI, Bhubaneswar, NALCO aims to further nurture talents at the grassroots level, he said

    This CSR initiative of NALCO reflects the Company’s continued commitment towards community development by focusing on youth skilling, employability and sustainable livelihood generation in its operational regions.
