Nalco gives 5 more PCR Vans to Police Commissionerate

Bhubaneswar, 04/01/2016: Navratna CPSE National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) gave 5 more Police Control Room (PCR) vans, in addition to 42 given earlier, to assist the Commisionerate Police of Twin-City (Bhubaneswar-Cuttack) to further strengthen law & order.

The fleet of vans, costing Rs. 63 lakh, was formally flagged off by Shri Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO and Dr. R.P. Sharma, Commissioner of Police, at the Police Commissionerate head quarters, here today.

Speaking on this occasion, Nalco’s CMD Shri Tapan Kumar Chand appreciated the role of Commissionerate Police in maintaining law & order, which has resulted in creating a conducive climate for industrialization and growth. “Besides public safety, the safe industrial environment is one of the key factors in attracting investments in Odisha,” Shri Chand observed. “Nalco, as a partner in the Police-Corporate Partnership programme, shall continue to support the Police of the State,” he added.

In his address, Dr. R.P. Sharma, Commissioner of Police, lauded the support of Nalco. “Out of our requirement of 53 PCR vans in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, 47 have been donated by Nalco,” he said.

Nalco Directors Shri N.R. Mohanty, Shri S.C. Padhy, Shri K.C. Samal, Ms. Soma Mondal, and Shri V. Balasubramanyam were present on the occasion.
