124th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar Celebrated

Bhubaneswar: 15/04/2015: Nalco Corporate SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, Bhubaneswar celebrated the 124th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, at Nalconagar, Bhubaneswar on April 14. To mark the occasion, a function was organized at Mahanadi Nivas auditorium, Nalconagar. While Shri Ansuman Das, CMD, NALCO graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, Shri Alekha Chandra Mallik, Former Director(Commercial) of GRIDCO was the Chief Speaker. Shri S.C. Padhy, Director (HR) was the Guest of Honour in the meeting.

At the outset, a cultural programme was organized by the children of Nalco Nagar, Bhubaneswar. Shri Jatindra Naik, General Secretary of the Association delivered the welcome address and introduced the guests. Chief Guest Shri Ansuman Das highlighted the deeds of Baba Saheb for drafting of Indian Constitution and giving equal status for all the people in society. Shri A.C. Mallik, Chief Speaker of the evening spoke about the unseen and unfolded activities done by Dr. Ambedkar for SC/ST people of India. Guest of Honour Shri S.C. Padhy emphasized on the works done by Baba Saheb for downtrodden and untouchables of the then society. Lastly, President of the Association Shri S.K. Sethi enlightened on Dr. Ambedkar’s life and deeds for downtrodden people of India. Shri Bhabani Shankar Das, Association member proposed the vote of thanks. The meeting was conducted by Smt. Neelima Kongari, Executive Body Member of the Association.
