    “Innovation and high deliverables key factors for effective CSR”: Dr. Chand, Nalco CMD

    Bhubaneswar, 02/12/2016 : “Quantifying CSR activities is critical for its success. Intention, innovation and low administrative cost with high deliverables are key factors for effective CSR,” said Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, Nalco while addressing as chief guest at the valedictory session of a Management Development Programme on ‘Building Corporate Strategy for Effective CSR’, here on 2nd December 2016. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chand shared the various CSR activities of Nalco including the ‘Nalco ki Ladli’ scheme to support meritorious girl students from BPL families, under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ programme of Government of India. Nalco is also taking up the development of Puri as an Iconic City. Dr. Chand also mentioned about the company’s initiatives to address the endemic problem of fluoride contamination of water in Angul sector, using breakthrough Nano technology.

    The three-day programme was organized by International Management Institute (IMI). Among others, Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director, IMI-B, Shri S.S. Mohanty, Vice Chairman & MD, NINL, Shri K.S. Patro, Director (HR), ECL were present on the occasion. Prof. Arun Kumar Rath, Programme Director, IMI delivered the keynote address.
