Bhubaneswar, 01.05.2019: ‘’NALCO is poised to notch up its highest ever profit in a decade and is all set to break records on the production and productivity fronts, when the Company announces its annual results for 2018-19. This has been possible only because of the efficiency and dedication of the work force including our contract workers and the level of trust & cooperation between the management and the trade & labour unions. In NALCO, we believe that, everyone – from top to bottom, is a ‘Shramik’ with a common objective of doing well for the Company,’’ said Dr. Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, NALCO while addressing the May Day celebrations organized by Nalco Employees Forum (NEF), the recognized union, and Nalco Employees Central Union (NECU), at separate functions yesterday at Bhubaneswar.

It may be noted that the unprecedented success that the company has achieved is helping brand NALCO grow into a strong global brand in the metal market. It is a matter of great pride for the Company to have been declared as the Lowest Cost producer of bauxite in the world for the year 2018 while maintaining its status as the Lowest Cost Producer of Alumina globally since the last three years. Credit for this goes to the entire Nalco collective.

It may be mentioned that NALCO has recently amicably concluded the 6th long term Wage settlement. This was historic as the entire process of negotiation was completed in a record time of 100 days in a harmonious and well coordinated environment. It is expected that this will act as a source of motivation to achieve company’s goals of productivity , profitability and sustainable growth in the future.

Directors of the company, President, NALCO Mahila Samiti, Senior Officials, Associations, President, General Secretary & office bearers, and Union members of Nalco Employees Forum, the recognized Union and Nalco Employees Central Union, were notably present on the occasion. Dr. T.K.Chand was felicitated by Shri Madan Mohan Dhal, President and Shri P.K.Das, General Secretary of the recognized union for his exemplary contribution to the organization and for giving a very sound leadership, which has taken NALCO to great heights of success and glory. To mark the occasion, souvenirs – Shram Sarathi and Shramika Barta were also released.
