    Bhubaneswar, 02.04.2026: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the flagship Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and leading manufacturer and exporter of alumina and aluminium, has delivered an extraordinary performance in FY 2025–26, breaking all previous records in both production and sales since its inception over four decades ago.

    Marking a historic milestone, NALCO achieved its highest-ever production across multiple operational fronts, reinforcing its leadership as an integrated player in the alumina and aluminium sector. The company recorded bauxite excavation of 77.01 lakh tonnes and bauxite transportation of 77.07 lakh tonnes, while alumina hydrate production reached 23.00 lakh tonnes and calcined alumina production stood at 22.75 lakh tonnes. Cast metal production was recorded at 4.72 lakh tonnes, alongside a highest-ever net power generation of 6,953 MU and coal production of 40 lakh
    tonnes.

    On the sales front too, the company also recorded unprecedented achievements, registering its best-ever performance across key segments, with total alumina sales reaching 14.46 lakh tonnes, domestic alumina sales at 1.38 lakh tonnes, and aluminium metal sales recorded at 4.74 lakh tonnes including highest-ever domestic metal sale of 4.61 lakh tonnes.

    Worth mentioning that the company recorded a 6.13% growth in bauxite transportation over the previous year, while calcined alumina production witnessed a significant increase of 11.16% and aluminium cast metal production rose by 2.61% year-on-year. On the sales front, total alumina sales registered a robust growth of 30.74%, with total aluminium sales also increasing by 2.82% compared to the previous year.

    Shri Brijendra Pratap Singh, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NALCO, expressed pride in the company’s remarkable accomplishments. While reviewing the company’s performance at the Annual Business Plan strategic meet held at Angul, he congratulated the entire NALCO team and stakeholders for their unwavering commitment and collective efforts. “This achievement reflects the dedication, discipline, and collective strength of our employees. We have consistently striven to surpass our own benchmarks, and this milestone further strengthens our path towards sustained business excellence,” he said.

    Looking ahead, Shri Singh emphasized the company’s roadmap for continued growth and innovation. “We must continue improving and expanding our capabilities to meet future demands. Our progress will be driven by a renewed focus on the 3Ps – Plant Efficiency, People Efficiency, and Process Efficiency. As we move forward, our vision is firmly set on embracing digital transformation and advancing our green initiatives.” Shri Singh also acknowledged the invaluable guidance and support extended by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and the continued cooperation of the Government of Odisha in enabling NALCO’s journey of excellence.

    With record-breaking performance in FY26, NALCO has not only reinforced its position as a key player in the global aluminium industry but has also set a new benchmark for operational excellence and sustainable growth among public sector enterprises.
