    NALCO &‘Nagar RajbhasaKaryanvayanSamitiUpkram’ celebrates birth centenary of Pt. DeendayalUpadhyay

    Bhubaneswar, 26/09/2017: National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO), in association with Nagar Rajbhasa Karyanvayan Samiti (Upkram)organised various programmes to mark the centenary celebrations of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay at corporate office, various plants, regional offices and all the CPSUs of Bhubaneswar.

    To commemorate the occasion, NALCO organised a special exhibition and function in Bhubaneswar yesterday, showcasing the life and times of the great visionary. NALCO CMD Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand inaugurated the exhibition, alongwith special guests Shri Samir Kumar Mohanty, Social Activist and Pandit Sudhakar Sharma, Member, Hindi Advisory Committee, Ministry of Mines.

    Addressing the gathering, who turned up in huge numbers, Dr. Chand said, ‘’All of us should wholeheartedly work towards the welfare of the poor and the marginalised section of the society. The principle of Antyodaya advocated by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay brings in inclusive growth and self- reliance. This is in line with the ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ initiative which can transform our country into a New India.’’

    Shri Samir Kumar Mohanty, who was the Chief Guest during the function, stressed on the importance of following in Pt. Deendayal’s footsteps. NALCO’s Director (HR) Shri Basant Kumar Thakur also spoke on the occasion.

    A Souvenir titled ‘PanditDeendayalVyakti,Vichaar and Darshan’, which is a collection of valuable articles written by eminent persons and writers,was also released.

    Awards were also presented to winners of various competitions like poster, quiz and essay-writing, which revolved around the theme of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s life and work. Many CPSUs and Insurance companies of Bhubaneswar were also present and received prizes for Hindi competitions organized under the aegis of Nagar Rajbhasa Karyanvayan Samiti(Upkram).
