Bhubaneswar, 28/08/2018: The 7th Session of India-Russia Sub-Group on Mining under the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation met at New Delhi today to identify areas of cooperation & collaboration. In this protocol meeting, Indian industries were represented by Dr.T.K Chand, CMD, NALCO & others. In the meeting, Dr Chand pitched for Angul Aluminium Park, a joint venture promoted by NALCO & IDCO, as a potential area for cooperation for Russian investment & technology collaboration, which was agreed by the Russian side.

Industry experts say this will bring in Russian high-end technology in downstream units of the park, which will help the Aluminium Park achieve global standards. Apart from this, there are areas like collaboration for strategic minerals like cobalt, lithium etc, which has also been agreed upon. Pursuant to this, top global companies like UC Rusal, Ms. KJTS, Ms. UHM etc will be visiting Odisha.

The response to the Angul Aluminium Park has been unprecedented and it is set to become a major centre in the world for aluminium downstream activities.
