    Bhubaneswar, 23/01/2016 : “NALCO as a responsible corporate citizen is committed towards preserving & promoting the rich culture of Odisha. As the only CPSE having its headquarters at Bhubaneswar, we are continuously and consistently trying to associate ourselves with its rich legacy. In that line NALCO would promote Odissi by instituting scholarships for BPL students who are learning this art form. Moreover, we shall award for literature on Odissi dance, which help in popularizing, patronizing and propagating Odissi”, said Shri Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD of the NALCO, while addressing a cultural programme yesterday, at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar, organized by leading Dance & Art Institute Rudrakshya Foundation. It may be mentioned that recently the aluminium major handed over Nalco Kharvel Awards to Odissi exponent Padmashree Ileana Citaristi and noted Odissi dancer Saswat Joshi on the Foundation Day of the company.

    The blend of Yoga & Odissi dance was the main attraction of the cultural event. Smt Preeti Roy, President, Nalco Mahila Samiti, noted Odissi guru, Shri Bichitrananda Swain and Shri B.B. Mukherjee, Assistant Director, Tourism Department, Govt. of India were notably present on the occasion.
