: Under the visionary leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister, the mining sector in India has witnessed transformative reforms aimed at enhancing the welfare, safety, and livelihoods of mine workers. These forward-looking initiatives have not only improved working conditions and safety measures but have also opened doors for skill development, social security, and sustainable growth.
In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), the Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, and the country’s leading integrated aluminium producer with its own mining and smelting operations continues to undertake progressive initiatives to support its workforce. As a pioneering initiative and in line with its commitment to employee welfare, NALCO is extending Group Personal Accident Insurance coverage of ₹1 crore to all its regular employees through corporate salary accounts with SBI and other partner banks.
The company has also launched a Group Personal Accident Insurance Scheme for its contractual workforce. Under this scheme, each contractual worker is covered for ₹20 lakh in the event of accidental death while on duty, and ₹10 lakh in case of disability. Guided by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, under the leadership of Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal and Mines, these efforts reflect the company’s strong commitment to inclusive growth, social security, and sustainable development in the mining sector.
With these significant moves, the company has ensured greater financial security for employees and underscored NALCO’s proactive approach to safeguarding its workforce.
