NALCO to power academia of Odisha, says Mr T.K. Chand, CMD

Bhubaneswar, 13/11/2015:   Replete with excellent academic institutions, Odisha and its capital Bhubaneswar is fast emerging as an educational & knowledge-hub. Located at the vertex of golden triangle, Bhubaneswar with its pollution free climate & rich cultural heritage is attracting reputed educational institutions to set up their establishments.

Odisha based Navratna Company NALCO, with its head office at Bhubaneswar is having a grand plan to boast the education potential of place and is developing a blue print to step up premier educational institutions of Odisha to global standard.

Under this plan, top management of NALCO will be interacting with selected premier institutions, to begin with in Bhubaneswar, and identify areas of mutual co-operation and collaboration.

“In fact, we already had elaborate discussions with Prof. R.V. Rajkumar, Director and Prof. P.K.J. Mohapatra of IIT, Bhubaneswar, on contemporary topics of mutual interest. IIT is keen to sign an MoU with NALCO to boost exchange programmes, and focus on research activities, set up incubation centres and knowledge parks, thereby increasing the employability of youngsters and improving the visibility of Odisha in national and international arena,” Mr T.K. Chand, CMD of the company informed.

CMD, NALCO Shri T.K. Chand will be visiting institutes including IIT, Bhubaneswar, XIMB, KISS & KIIT and IMIS Campus to interact with students and faculties on ways and means on co-operation and collaboration. “NALCO has also planned to invite identified institutions to be members of various study teams, making business visits to world-class mines and industries,” Mr Chand added.
