Yes,ProceedBhubaneswar: National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna PSU of Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India, has announced the results for the 3rd quarter ended December 2013.
According to the reviewed financial results for 3rd quarter of the financial year 2013-14, taken on record by the Board in a meeting held in New Delhi today, NALCO has registered a net profit of Rs.131 crore, up 10%, against Rs.119 crore achieved during the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
The net profit and net sales for the 9 months ended December 2013 work out to Rs.470 crore, against the corresponding figure of Rs.347 crore for the previous fiscal, i.e. up by 35%.
On the production front, during the first nine months, NALCO produced 14.26 lakh tonnes of alumina hydrate, which is 12.2% up against 12.70 lakh tonnes achieved during the comparable period of the previous fiscal. However, metal production was 2.38 lakh tonnes, against 3.05 lakh tonnes registered during the comparable nine months of the previous fiscal. Power generation was 3,760 MU against 4,582 MU achieved in the corresponding period of the previous year. In the 3rd quarter of 2013-14, the alumina hydrate production was 4.66 lakh tonnes, 17.4% up as compared to 3.97 lakh tonnes achieved in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Metal production in the third quarter of this fiscal has gone down to 0.79 lakh tonnes, against 1.00 lakh tonnes achieved in the same quarter of the previous year. Power generation was at 1,249 MU in this quarter, as compared to 1,525 MU of the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
