    Union Minister of State for Steel & Mines appreciates Nalco

    Bhubaneswar, 21/03/2016: Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister of State for Steel & Mines, visited Nalco Corporate Office this evening. On arrival, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD, Nalco extended a warm welcome to Shri Sai. Thereafter, the Minister reviewed the performance of the company in presence of all Directors, Executive Directors and General Managers.

    Minister Shri Sai appreciated Nalco’s performance in the current sluggish market, as well as company’s all-weather business model and the company’s unique CSR activities. He advised Nalco management to continue its strategic initiatives to remain ahead of competitions in national and international markets.

    Dr. Chand apprised the Minister about the efforts made by Nalco in promoting the consumption and application of aluminium. A copy of the book ‘Aluminium : The Strategic Metal’, written by Dr. Chand, was presented to him, wherein various ways and means have been dealt for doubling the per capita use of aluminium in India from its present level of 2 kgs, in the next couple of years. The book also extensively deals with green use of aluminium. Shri N.R. Mohanty, Director (Projects & Technical) of Nalco, proposed a vote of thanks.
