Yes,ProceedBhubaneswar, 27/10/2014: National Aluminium Company (NALCO) joined the Nation in observing Vigilance Awareness Week in its sites and offices. This year, the week is being celebrated from October 27 to November 1, with the theme ‘Combating Corruption : Technology as an Enabler’.
Inaugurating the week-long programme at the Corporate Office, today, Shri Ansuman Das, CMD, along with Shri S.C Padhy, Director (HR) and Shri Subrat Kar, DGM (Vigilance), administered the pledge among the employees in three different languages. The excerpts from the messages given by constitutional authorities were also read out to the employees on the occasion. A seminar based on this year’s theme was also organized on the occasion.
Shri R. Srikumar, IPS (Retd.), Former Vigilance Commissioner of India, and noted journalist Shri Vineet Narain, graced the occasion as the chief guest and chief speaker respectively. While chief speaker Shri Narain shared his experience on fighting against corruption through a presentation, chief guest Shri R. Srikumar stressed on how technology can be used in recording & reporting corruption and can be used as a tool to increase transparency, efficiency and accountability. Shri Ansuman Das, CMD presided over the seminar. Shri S.C. Padhy, Director (HR) delivered the welcome address, while Shri Subrat Kar, DGM (Vigilance) proposed the vote of thanks.
As part of the celebrations, elocution competitions on difference topics relevant to vigilance awareness will be organized among the students of local schools & colleges at Nalco Corporate office on October 29.
